Panpsychism is the philosophical view that mind, or a mind-like aspect, is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of reality.

In simpler terms, it suggests that consciousness or subjective experience isn’t limited to complex brains (like humans or animals), but is present, in some form, throughout the entire universe, down to its most basic constituents. This doesn’t necessarily mean that rocks or atoms have thoughts and feelings like humans do, but rather that they possess a very primitive form of “mentality” or “experience” at their core.
